The Art Forgers

Original is Beautiful.
"Original" is similar to the concept of "Beauty", it is wealth and myth.

Here is my painting of Nudo sdraiato a braccia aperte (1917) by Amedeo Modigliani.

I painted this Modigliani mimic painting for own study in 2010 while I was in Japan, and now it is in owned by a gentleman in New Jersey. (*Note: Although I did not make a signature on, he, the owner is a 100% aware that this piece was made by me.)

How many paintings at permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art are technically fake (by meaning "fake" that was not made by the artist on the explanation panel next to the art work) ?

There are numerous documentaries talking about art forgers like John Myatt and Tom Keating as well as documentaries about the art forgery in general.
I think that the art forger is one of the most coolest and thrilling and addictive 'Professional Occupations" as well as multi-billion businesses that has great influence and impact on the society today (and not to mention that it is technically Illegal)Most of the forgers not only they have outstanding techniques, but also spend enormous time with insane passion for study to forger art works by masters and they become a master of the masters

When the a fake passed through the scholors' and scientists' eyes and the X-ray, and the work is recognized and auctioned and bought in public as an original and no one seems to know or has a way to prove that the work is not authentic piece.
If a forgery could be so successfully done, would it still matter original or fake?
