COLLECTION 1880s-1940s (5th Floor)

I haven't posted a blog for a while, and I am happy to share this one with you. As always blog is meant to be an art archive and sometimes critic from a personal artist's point of view. Thank you for staying as the royal audience of my blog.

On June 24, 2021, I visited MoMA museum, for the first time since their closure from the lockdown . Now all museums in New York City are reopened (still a mask is required) A wonderful news is that many museums and art institutions have been renovating their space using this blank time.

Museums in New York are run and supported by tough and creative New Yorkers that we are. Please visit museums and galleries and be part of reopening if you haven't been so.

While I have visited the MoMA museum numerous times in the past, I think this is the best curation (as an entire building) that they have ever had. This archival blog will be text focused, and in a few parts in a few blog.

It will be mostly in chronological order I walked rather than the numerical order.

My blog is one of rare places where you can read the wall texts from the exhibition which usually are only for the specific show, while paintings and other art you still have a chance to see. It goes together with pictures of artworks I personally took for myself of details that drew my attention from different perspectives.

Part 2 will follow in a few days, so please look forward to it.

The Hope , II is particurary beloved painting with historically advancing achivement but to me, I do see something else in this painting that, alothough it is ‘visually spiritual’ and beautiful, and besides all people who are moved and mesmerized by this ‘meaningful’ picture, I cannot simply love(or in more accurate word would be 'worship')  it, this one, particularly with a good reason. I will probbaly write about it in another blog sometime soon.

I mean, nobody will ask us or force us to love a painting, or tell us how we should feel about it in this contemporary time. Right? Well is it really so? Is it same for art practiced and non practiced audience? So much to question.  That’s not really true depends on how sensitive you are in what direction. But since no one seems to talk about this or not many people at least even thought there might be some, I can share my thoughts about it in future post.

Ignazio Jacometti, I met him (or someone very similar) before in Paris.

Have you seen one of my Goldfish tank paintings? Well they are two different works but they share the same characteristic of having one eye. Now I see this painting in front of me just like I see my painting in my studio, both with the one eye in an odd place, but they are both quite different visually and also in terms of impression and meaning.

Here is a picture of me and Magritte from 2019.

I have pictures (and one selfie below) of this artwork from November 14, 2019 when I visited MoMA.
